Turning sketches into reality.

Since our inception, Atomic Wash has developed unique product concepts for promotional and retail applications. Our more notable projects include ideating sandals for third-world populations to reduce foot-borne diseases, developing branded promotional merchandise for the world’s most iconic brands, through to executive gifts for the world’s largest aircraft manufacturer. We’ve created some very special and memorable objects that solve problems and get noticed.

Nike Product Ideation

We brainstormed literally hundreds of ways to create new products out of NIKE Grind (the rubber, foam and fiber end-product created from recycled sneakers). Instead of simply coming up with predictable promotional items, we made sure every idea was sustainable, functional, brand-able, desirable, memorable, and ultimately feasible.

Matrix Brand Launch

MATRIX, a 32-year-old technology and services staffing company, had recently refreshed their brand identity, crafting a modern brand voice and developing a compelling brand story to help them sell their services. To bring their new brand to market, they wanted to marry their new identity with a fresh look and bring the entire package to market. They asked Atomic Wash to develop a rollout plan that could their brand launch was successful. Our team recommended starting with an internal campaign to gain buy-in from employees before launching an external campaign. The internal campaign included a range of initiatives including a Town Hall meeting, a “Launch Party” kit which featured tee shirts for all employees and a “Know Your Pitch” incentive. The external campaign included a website refresh, press release distribution and new collateral materials. The internal rollout ensured employees became brand ambassadors which drove increased success when launched publicly. The brand was able to both build brand awareness and drive sales growth.

Boeing Product Ideation

When the world’s largest aerospace company wants to thank a client, the gift needs to project a level of design and quality comparable to what goes into making their jetliners. So, when Boeing asked for a custom gift, we developed a concept that could pay homage to their brand identity and leave a lasting impression, while at the same time be something the recipient would enjoy and appreciate. We came up with a “Thank You Toast” kit, complete with a bottle of champagne, crystal glasses and bottle stopper, all packaged in a case designed in the shape of an airplane wing. Boeing loved it and immediately moved forward with producing the kit which is now sold in the Boeing gift shop.

Biltmore Product
Ideation & Fulfillment

The Biltmore hosts over 1 million visitors each year and works hard to keep the 13 gift shops on the property filled with fresh merchandise that both generates sales and promotes the brand. Atomic Wash studied the brand, examined the existing products and explored current trends in order to design and deliver a look book filled with over 50 new branded product ideas. The presentation, delivered as a custom-designed book with a carved wood cover, resulted in Biltmore buyers ordering 17 of the products to add to their merchandise mix.

Café du Monde Product Ideation

World famous for coffee and beignets, Café du Monde has been a New Orleans landmark for over 150 years. Souvenirs from their gift shop are a big part of the business, so offering great merchandise that excites customers and incents sales is crucial. On request from a promotional product client, the Atomic Wash team designed a range of new, brand-relevant, on-trend products, gift baskets and apparel ideas for their review. In addition, we created merchandise displays designed to showcase the product mix better, making it easier and more fun for customers to find the perfect item. The presentation met with so much success, our client is now a preferred provider for Café du Monde shops.
